A teenage girl from Hackney, London, struggles to adjust to her new home of Penzance, Cornwall, during the ancient pagan summer solstice of Mazey Day. For this drama about teenage loneliness, the director draws upon his own experience of moving to Penzance from the East End of London.
Martin Tunnicliffe-Squirrell is a Cornwall based writer-director who is particularly interested in the unique, often strange, Celtic heritage of Cornwall. Martin is developing the supernatural short Grave for his final MA project. Two more Cornwall based features, crime thriller Brown Town and horror flick The Retreat, are also in development.
