New York, 1927. An aspiring model goes to have her picture taken. Into The Silver Ether is a supernatural horror short which investigates the mythical qualities of photography. Shot on 16mm and hand-developed, the film yearns to be mistaken for a lost Carl Theodor Dreyer experiment.
Vito A. Rowlands is an Antwerp and New York based writer, director and professor, who teaches Film at Columbia University. Rowlands’ experimental shorts have won awards internationally and he is currently developing two feature projects: a period horror film about spiritualism; and a musical tragicomedy with production company Minds Meet.
