About the Speakers:
I have worked at Park Circus for 9 years overseeing the company’s theatrical sales operation, working as Director of Theatrical Sales. Working with over 100 countries worldwide, we ensure theatrical distribution for many of the greatest films ever made, representing all the major Hollywood studios. Every day I work with programmers of festivals and cinemas around the world who share the same passion as me – seeing films back on the big screen. There’s nothing better.
Allison Gardner is CEO at Glasgow Film. What began as a single screen cinema over 40 years ago has become Scotland’s most diverse and best publicly attended independent cinema in Scotland, with Glasgow Film Festival one of the top three film festivals in the UK.
Glasgow Film is a national centre for film and moving image media where audiences and filmmakers experience and debate cultural practice and ideas through diverse, unique and quality programmes that transform the way people see the world, through film.
As Director of Programme & Distribution Sales, Damian’s role at BAFTA-winning Curzon crosses all three divisions of their fully integrated cinema, distribution and on demand business. His programming team oversees the acquisition of films, events and alternative content across the Curzon circuit of cinemas and digital cinema platform Curzon Home Cinema.
Damian also runs the distribution teams that manage the release of Curzon’s critically acclaimed and award-winning world cinema titles into cinemas nationwide and across VOD platforms in the UK and Ireland; and that sell into subscription TV, on demand platforms and home entertainment retailers. Previously Damian was an independent distributor for almost ten years, at The Works UK and Metrodome, as a film salesman before heading up theatrical, TV and new media divisions. In his early career, he worked as a projectionist, cinema manager and for Picturehouse Cinemas as senior programmer.
Rishi Kapoor is an experienced professional in digital film distribution both UK and Internationally, a former executive at Sony Pictures, Universal Studios, Warner Bros. and Disney. After many years working on distribution deals with Netflix, Amazon and Apple, he turned his attention to the niche film space, supporting independent filmmakers at paus.tv.
